Why STEM?
STEM in grades 5 and 6 is essential because it builds critical 21st-century skills such as creativity, communication, critical thinking, and collaboration. It nurtures a problem-solving and innovative mindset while providing hands-on, real-world experiences that deepen understanding of complex concepts. STEM also supports the development of digital citizenship, inspires confidence in STEM subjects, and introduces students to future career pathways—preparing them for advanced studies and success in a technology-driven world.
